Become a Volunteer

The 2007 drive will occur at three locations in Sacramento, California. The three major donation sites are located as follows:

The 2007 drive will commence at all three sites identified at 12 noon on December 1, 2007 and will close at 6 pm on Sunday, December 23, 2007. The drive, excepting opening and closing shorter days, operates from 10am to 7pm, consisting of three - three hour shifts of three volunteers per shift (10am-1pm,1pm-4pm,4pm-7pm), totaling nine volunteers per day per site. As a volunteer you will be working in the good company of other volunteers and never alone. The work is safe and fun while meeting the public in the Christmas Spirit. We do not solicit in any fashion at the toy drive, and youngsters are welcome (if accompanied by a parent if the child is under 16) or are present through the auspices of a high school community service program.

We are also recruiting for "shift supervisor" positions, which will assist in the changing of the guard of volunteers. The shift supervisors will have the same duties as volunteers, plus overall site responsibility, and they will be the immediate "go to" person if a volunteer encounters any question or problem. The shift supervisors will work one of three - three hour shifts per day (10am-1pm,1pm-4pm,4pm-7pm). Any volunteer can do both jobs if they feel so inclined, in the same time slot or at a different time slot. Supervisors may also undergo a little bit of training, just a little bit, before taking on oversight duties.

In all cases, the drive will have rapid responders and supervision from the experienced management team. We will not be throwing our volunteers into the deep end of the pool in any event.

For purposes of volunteering, the public can contact Bret Daniels at bret_d99@yahoo.com or 916-224-8444.
